The Tianguis as Light and Color

Tianguis open-air market

A Sunday at the Tianguis

Sunday, May 22, 2011

The tianguis is an open-air market dating from pre-Columbian times and I’m fascinated by its history and changes over the centuries, and it features in my current documentary video. People shade themselves and their wares using plastic sheets and umbrellas. These make beautiful patterns in the light and breezes. That’s what I mainly photographed today.
